  • The race will start promptly at 8:00am. Please arrive early to allow time for check-in and warm-up.

  • The race will start near to 433 San Simeon Rd, San Simeon, CA 93452

    Park at William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach parking lot. Parking is limited to the first 150 vehicles. PLEASE CARPOOL! 

  • The course is fully paved running in the bike lane aside Highway 101, Moonstone Dr, or Windsor Blvd. Expect rolling hills throughout the route.

  • Yes, there will be aid stations at approximately 4-miles into the route in the town of San Simeon, providing water.

  • No. While we love pets and little ones, strollers and dogs are not permitted on the course. The route is not fully closed to traffic, and vehicles on Highway 1 can travel at high speeds. For everyone’s safety, the event must keep all participants safely out of the roadway.

  • Yes! Timing chips will be provided on race day. There is no packet pick up prior to race day.

  • Live on RTTimingsolutions.com or on the Castle to Coast website at the conclusion of the event weekend.

  • The race will proceed rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe. Updates will be posted on Instagram, Facebook and the event website.

  • Yes, our iconic hand-carved Whale awards will be given to the top 6 male and 6 female runners as they cross the finish line. Age group results (not awards) will also be provided so you can see how you stack up in every 5-year age bracket.

  • There are no refunds or deferments for this event.

  • Yes! Participants can initiate their own transfer by logging into RunSignUp. All transfers must be completed prior to 1/15/2026.

  • Yes! If a registrant chooses to forfeit their place in the race a waitlist is being kept on a first come, first served basis. Sign up for the waitlist through RunSignUp as soon as the event registration is full.

  • 2 x 25 passenger shuttle buses from SLO SafeRide will be waiting for you at Shamel Park to take you back to the William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach parking lot.

  • Limited parking at Shamel Park is used for volunteers, staff, emergency response vehicles and shuttle buses. Please have friends and family cheer for you at one of the convenient locations along the course.
