Wake up with the sunrise for a unique Central Coast experience!
Castle to Coast starts at stunning William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach, nestled beneath iconic Hearst Castle.
Lace up for an invigorating 8.2-mile run along breathtaking Highway 1, making your way to the charming coastal town of Cambria, finishing at Shamel Park. Enjoy spectacular early morning ocean views of the Pacific Ocean, making this run as visually stunning as it is energizing. This low-key, feel-good event is the perfect way to kick off your new year, whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply looking for a fun and rewarding challenge. Along the route, you’ll be supported by enthusiastic Cuesta College Student-Athlete volunteers, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
At the finish line, participants can look forward to giveaways from Running Warehouse, FLUID Sports Nutrition and other local merchants. Plus, a convenient shuttle service will transport you back to the starting line. Stay and relax in quaint Cambria to celebrate your accomplishment.
Start: William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach

Check-in: 6:45 AM (to obtain timing chip & pre-ordered t-shirt)
Race Start: 8:00 AM
Finish line: Shamel Beach in Cambria.
Runners and walkers are welcome within 3 hours of start time.

Course Details
8.2 miles of beautiful ocean view running, begins at William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach then follow Hwy 1 south to Cambria.

Bathrooms will be located at the start and finish only.
Water is provided at the start, mile 4 & at the finish.
After finishing, participants can take advantage of the SLO Safe Rides shuttle, conveniently provided to transport runners back to the start area in San Simeon.

Cambria Community Healthcare provides a dedicated EMT-staffed ambulance for the event.

Parking
LIMITED PARKING is available at the William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach lot. PLEASE CARPOOL! No parking will be permitted at Shamel Park.
After the Run
Celebrate your finish at beautiful Shamel Park with great views, good company, and well-earned refreshments!
Refueling: Enjoy fresh bread and bananas from House of Bread, plus recovery beverages and water provided by FLUID.
Giveaways: We’re excited to offer giveaways from Running Warehouse again this year, including quality performance items and gift certificates for participants of all ages.
Awards: The top 5 female and male finishers earn the cherished Castle to Coast Whale Award, each one hand-carved from local redwood by event founder and past race director Jim Hurley.
Results: Finishing times will be posted live at RTTimingSolutions.com and shared on the Castle to Coast Facebook page and our Results tab by the end of race weekend.
Merchandise: Additional race shirts will be available for purchase at the finish line for $25. We accept Venmo, cash, and checks.
